Founded in 2001, Sprout is designed to facilitate community-led solutions to regional challenges and supports efforts to create a thriving, progressive, and culturally diverse region. With strong working relationships to many community organizations and regional stakeholders, The Sprout Fund is one of Southwestern Pennsylvania's leading agencies on issues related to civic engagement, talent attraction and retention, public art, and catalytic small-scale funding.
With ongoing local support and continued appreciation by the communities it serves, The Sprout Fund will continue to provide an entry point for young people to become involved and active in their communities and support projects that have the collective power to shape a new culture and vision for the region."
About me: Greetings artists and artiste. I am Dr. Sketchy of Pittsburgh. We are the Pittsburgh incarnation of the artistic movement created by Molly Crabapple. A movement known as Dr. Sketchy's Anti Artschool! Why sit in a classroom drawing the beautiful but mundane when you can join us in a a festive atmosphere of creativity as we draw, sketch, paint and otherwise capture the exotic and exoteric beauty of Roller Derby Girls, Burlesque Performers, Belly Dancers, and the occasional Side Show Freak. It takes place at Gypsy Cafe in Pittsburgh's historic southside. Where our caravan of models, minstrals and miscreants, roll in 12 times a year to inspire artists as libations and creativity merge to create Dr. Sketchy's Anti Artschool! Come draw our lovely feature pinup model, Ashley Stone as she poses in costumes provide by our friends at Spotlight Costume. Prizes, games, and entertainment are presented. Suggested donation of $10. Must be 21 to imbibe and induldge in spirits.
